In October of 2016, CNN hosted the Presidential Town Hall: America's Military & The Commander in Chief, with President Barack Obama and CNN Correspondent Jake Tapper. This Town Hall was shot live at the Ft. Lee Combined Arms Support Command, an Army base in Southern Virginia, with pre-production over the course of the week prior.
Filming on a military installation added several layers of logistical complexity to this event. Our role as Project Managers involved coordinating Scenic, Lighting, Staging and Rigging elements on a condensed timeframe. This involved working closely with CNN, Turner Broadcasting, The White House, The United States Army, The United States Secret Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and IATSE (Stagehand Union) Local 735.
